Russia’s AvtoVAZ may stop making Lada Priora cars from 2016

SAMARA, Sep 24 (PRIME) -- Russian largest carmaker AvtoVAZ may halt production of Lada Priora cars from early 2016, Sergei Zaitsev, head of the company’s labor union, told PRIME on Thursday.

“AvtoVAZ’s President (Bo Andersson) expressed such a position at a meeting with the team that production of Priora will be halted from next year. Unfortunately, Priora sales are very low,” Zaitsev said.

Earlier, AvtoVAZ temporarily suspended Lada Priora production as it already fulfilled a September production plan for this model amid low demand.
